Design and Exterior Enhancements

The 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift sports a refreshed look with a redesigned front fascia that includes a new grille, sleeker LED headlights, and an illuminated grille light band starting from the Signature variant. The SUV also features sequential turn indicators and a revamped front bumper. The facelifted model rides on new alloy wheels, with sizes ranging from 16 inches on the lower trims to 17 inches on the higher variants. At the rear, it boasts connected LED taillights with illuminated Skoda lettering and a newly designed bumper. Despite a slight increase in overall length by 4 mm due to the bumper design, the interior dimensions remain unchanged. However, the boot capacity has increased significantly from 385 litres to 491 litres.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the Kushaq facelift offers a host of new features designed to enhance comfort and convenience. It now includes a segment-first rear seat massager, a panoramic sunroof, and a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system has been upgraded to a larger touchscreen, complemented by dual-colour ambient lighting and front parking sensors. The integration of an electric sunroof is standard across all trims. High-end variants feature a premium Skoda Sound System with a subwoofer and a new AI-powered infotainment and tech assistant developed in collaboration with Google Cloud.

Powertrain Options and Performance

The Kushaq continues with its reliable turbo-petrol engine lineup. The 1.0-litre TSI engine delivers 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, paired with a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 8-speed AISIN automatic gearbox, which is a segment-first feature at the base level. For those seeking more power, the 1.5-litre TSI engine generates 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque and is exclusively available with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. This powertrain also incorporates Active Cylinder Technology for improved fuel efficiency. Skoda claims a mileage of 19.66 kmpl for the 1.0 MT, 19.09 kmpl for the 1.0 AT, and 18.72 kmpl for the 1.5 DSG.

Safety and Ownership Benefits

Safety remains a top priority for the Kushaq, which retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. Standard safety features include six airbags, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming IRVM, a rear wiper, and defogger, along with electronic stability systems. Skoda has enhanced the model's safety package with over 40 features available across the variants.

In terms of ownership benefits, Skoda offers the Super Care Package that includes a 4-year/1,00,000 km warranty, four years of roadside assistance, and four labour-free services. Additionally, customers can opt for an extended warranty up to 8 years, along with a 6-year corrosion warranty and a 3-year paint warranty.

Competing in a Crowded Segment

The updated Kushaq is set to compete with formidable rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Grand Vitara, Renault Duster, and the upcoming Tata Sierra. With its enhanced features, competitive pricing, and robust safety credentials, the Kushaq facelift aims to strengthen Skoda's position in the Indian market.

The refreshed Kushaq is now available at Skoda dealerships across more than 180 cities in India, with deliveries already underway. With its blend of style, technology, and performance, the 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift is poised to attract a wide range of customers looking for a premium compact SUV experience.
