Nissan Launches All-New GRAVITE in India with Introductory Price of INR 5.65 Lakhs
Nissan has launched the all-new GRAVITE in India, marking a significant step in its product offensive strategy for the country. With an introductory price of INR 5.65 Lakhs, the GRAVITE is set to redefine the seven-seater MPV market, targeting modern Indian families with its unique blend of space, versatility, and comfort.
The GRAVITE is the first model under Nissan Motor India's renewed strategy, reflecting their commitment to the Indian market. With its design inspired by the diverse culture of India, the GRAVITE aims to cater to the evolving mobility needs of Indian families. Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President, Middle East, KSA, CIS, and India at Nissan, emphasized that this launch is pivotal for Nissan's growth and leadership ambitions in key segments within the Indian automotive landscape.
Design and Features
The GRAVITE is built on Nissan's signature 'C' design language, offering a bold and purposeful stance. It features a commanding road presence with elevated proportions, muscular body lines, and high ground clearance, making it suitable for diverse Indian driving conditions. The exterior is further enhanced by all-round LED lighting, including signature LED headlamps with DRLs, Crystal Edge LED tail lamps, and a unique Piano Black 2D grille.
Inside, the GRAVITE offers pioneering modularity with flexible seating configurations from two to seven seats. This allows families to adapt the space as needed, providing up to 625 litres of luggage capacity in its five-seater configuration. The interior is designed for comfort, featuring premium suede and leatherette quilted seats, ensuring ample space and comfort for all passengers.
Technology and Safety
Equipped with modern technology, the GRAVITE features a 20.32 cm floating infotainment system compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 17.78 cm digital multi-functional cluster. It also includes a wireless charger, auto LED headlamps with a follow-me-home function, and conveniences like walk-away lock and approach unlock.
Safety is a central pillar of the GRAVITE, offering over 30 standard safety features. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill-Start Assist, Brake Assist, and ABS with EBD. Performance and Variants
The GRAVITE is powered by a 1.0L, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 72PS at 6250 rpm and a peak torque of 96Nm between 3400 to 3600 rpm. It offers a choice between a five-speed manual and a five-speed EZ-shift (AMT) transmission, providing a fuel economy of 19.6 km/l with the automatic and 19.3 km/l with the manual transmission.
The model comes in several variants, including VISIA, ACENTA, N-CONNECTA, TEKNA, and their respective AMT versions, with pricing ranging from INR 5,65,000 to INR 8,49,000. Additionally, a Limited Launch Edition is available, featuring premium JBL speakers, dual dash cam, air purifier, and ambient mood lighting, among other enhancements.
With the GRAVITE, Nissan is not only introducing a product but also reinforcing its long-term strategy in India. The vehicle is locally manufactured in Chennai, supporting Nissan's commitment to the Indian market. Future plans include the launch of the Tekton C-SUV in mid-2026 and a seven-seater C-SUV in early 2027, highlighting the brand's continued growth and innovation in India.
