Maruti Suzuki has reached a significant milestone with its popular sedan, the Dzire, achieving over 3 million sales in India. This achievement underscores the Dzire's position as India's highest-selling sedan and the top-selling car in the calendar year 2025, with over 214,488 units sold. The Dzire's blend of sophisticated design, fuel efficiency, and advanced features continues to capture the hearts of Indian consumers.

Launched in 2008, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has evolved significantly over four generations. Initially introduced as the 'Heart Car,' it brought high-end features to its segment such as dual-front airbags, climate control, and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). The introduction of the AGS automatic transmission in the second generation further enhanced its appeal, alongside inviting dual-tone interiors.

The third generation of the Dzire continued this trend with the Z+ variants, featuring LED projector headlamps, a SmartPlay infotainment system, and precision-cut two-tone alloy wheels. The current fourth-generation model is powered by the new Z-Series engine, which combines spirited performance with efficiency, and is equipped with a host of new-age features designed to enhance the driving experience.

One of the key factors contributing to the Dzire’s success is its impressive fuel efficiency. It boasts a fuel economy of 24.79 km/l for the petrol manual transmission variant and an outstanding 33.73 km/kg in the S-CNG mode. These figures make it the most fuel-efficient sedan in India, appealing to cost-conscious consumers who do not want to compromise on performance.

In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire offers a range of class-leading amenities. It includes an electric sunroof, a 360-degree view camera with HD resolution, and a 22.86 cm (9-inch) SmartPlay Pro+ system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the Next Gen Suzuki Connect system provides smartwatch connectivity and Alexa Skill integration, ensuring that the Dzire remains at the forefront of automotive technology.

Safety is another area where the Dzire excels. It is equipped with over 15 top-of-the-line safety features, including six airbags, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. The sedan has also achieved a 5-star safety rating from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP, affirming its commitment to occupant safety.

Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed gratitude to the Dzire’s loyal customer base, noting that nearly 50% of Dzire buyers are young, first-time car owners. "The Dzire has reignited the sedan segment with its refined and sophisticated appeal," Banerjee stated, highlighting the model's appeal to those who value style and substance in equal measure.
