KTM Introduces 350cc Variants for Duke and Adventure Models in India
KTM India has expanded its popular 390 lineup by launching new 350cc engine variants for the KTM 390 Duke and KTM 390 Adventure. This strategic move lowers the entry price into KTM’s coveted performance range, with the 390 Duke starting at ₹2,77,268 and the 390 Adventure at ₹2,80,905, both ex-showroom, Delhi. The introduction of these models is aimed at attracting a wider audience by leveraging the benefits of the 18% GST bracket, enhancing affordability while retaining the premium feel of the range.
New 350cc Engine: Performance Meets Affordability
At the heart of these new variants is a 349cc engine that delivers impressive performance figures, producing 41.5 PS of power at 8,600 rpm and 33.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Despite the reduction in engine size, KTM has ensured that the core performance and riding experience remain unchanged. The new models share the same visual identity as their 399cc counterparts, featuring the same ‘390’ badging and stickers, which helps maintain the premium image that KTM is known for.
The motorcycles retain key components such as the USD front forks, monoshock rear suspension, and full TFT instrument console. The braking setup remains robust with a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc, ensuring reliable stopping power. The chassis, design, and bodywork also remain identical, further reinforcing the models' prestigious positioning in the market.
Distinct Personalities: Duke vs Adventure
While both models share the same engine and core hardware, they cater to different riding styles. The 390 Duke, with its street-focused design, offers a lower ground clearance of 183 mm and a seat height of 800 mm. It is also lighter with a kerb weight of 168 kg, resulting in a higher power-to-weight ratio of 247 PS per ton, making it ideal for urban enthusiasts who crave performance on the streets.
On the other hand, the 390 Adventure is tailored for those who seek touring and off-road capabilities. It boasts a higher ground clearance of 230 mm, a taller seat height of 830 mm, and longer suspension travel of 200 mm at the front and 205 mm at the rear. The larger 19-inch front wheel setup enhances its off-road prowess, making it a suitable choice for adventure riders.
Pricing Dynamics and Market Reach
The introduction of the 350cc variants does not replace the existing 399cc models, which continue to be available. The 399cc versions, including the high-spec 390 Duke R and 390 Adventure R, remain on offer with updated pricing—₹3.39 lakh for the 390 Duke and ₹3.43 lakh for the 390 Adventure X. This dual strategy allows KTM to cater to a broader customer base without diluting the brand's premium appeal.
By lowering the price threshold, KTM is targeting riders who might be looking to upgrade from 250cc or 300cc motorcycles. This move is expected to grow the KTM 390 community by making the brand's performance and features more accessible. According to Manik Nangia, President of Probiking at Bajaj Auto Ltd., this expansion is about turning aspiration into reality for a larger audience by offering genuine KTM performance at a more approachable entry point.
The new 350cc engine variants allow us to pass on the 18% GST benefit directly to our customers, lowering the entry price to the range while preserving everything that makes these motorcycles exceptional.

In conclusion, KTM's strategic introduction of the 350cc variants for the Duke and Adventure models not only broadens its market reach but also reinforces its commitment to providing high-performance motorcycles without compromising on quality or style. This move is likely to resonate well with both new entrants and existing fans of the brand, positioning KTM as a leader in the performance motorcycle segment in India.
