BMW X1 LWB India Launch: Specs & Price

The BMW X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) has officially made its debut in India, adding a new chapter to the success story of this popular luxury sports activity vehicle. With the introduction of a long wheelbase, enhanced performance, and a suite of digital upgrades, the new BMW X1 LWB promises to elevate the driving experience for Indian customers.

Locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai, the X1 LWB is available in a petrol variant and can be booked at BMW dealerships across India starting today. The introductory ex-showroom price is set at INR 49,90,000. This price includes GST but excludes other charges such as road tax and insurance.

Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, expressed confidence in the new X1 LWB, stating that it combines practicality with luxury, aiming to meet the evolving needs of Indian customers who are looking for space, comfort, and advanced technology in their vehicles.

Design and Interiors

The BMW X1 LWB's design is both bold and refined, characterized by its sharp lines and spacious interiors. Its dimensions – a length of 4,616 mm, a width of 2,104 mm, a height of 1,641 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm – make it the longest vehicle in its segment, providing ample space for passengers.

The exterior features the iconic BMW kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights with a cornering function, and a dynamic side profile enhanced by 18-inch M light alloy wheels. At the rear, the large-surface diffuser and 3D sculpted LED lights add to its powerful stance.

Inside, the X1 LWB offers an expansive cabin with multi-way electrically adjustable sport seats for the driver and front passenger. Rear passengers benefit from increased legroom and kneeroom, thanks to the extended wheelbase, ensuring a comfortable journey even on long drives.

Innovative Technology and Features

The BMW X1 LWB is equipped with the latest version of BMW iDrive, featuring a curved display that integrates seamlessly into the dashboard. The operating system is based on BMW Operating System 9, providing intuitive access to vehicle functions through voice and touch controls.

The digital experience is further enhanced by the BMW Digital Premium Package, offering features like enhanced navigation, proactive trip suggestions, and a variety of My Modes to personalize the driving experience. The vehicle also supports over-the-air updates, ensuring that it remains up-to-date with the latest features.

For convenience, the BMW Digital Key Plus allows owners to use their smartphone or smartwatch as a vehicle key, providing a new level of comfort and security.
