In a momentous achievement for the automotive sector in India, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has proudly celebrated the production of its 2 millionth vehicle. This milestone not only underscores the company's enduring commitment to the Indian market but also highlights the country's growing influence within the global automotive landscape.

A Celebration of Indian Engineering

The heart of this achievement lies in the robust production of over 500,000 vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform. This platform, developed locally, supports popular models such as the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq, along with the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. These vehicles have swiftly established themselves as central pillars of the brand's growth strategy, enjoying strong demand both in India and abroad.

Remarkable Market Performance

Bolstering these production feats, SAVWIPL has seen remarkable commercial success. October 2025 emerged as the best month in the group's history in India over the last six years, marking its second-highest monthly sales. In that span, Škoda Auto India doubled its performance year-on-year with over 61,607 units sold in the first ten months of 2025, while Volkswagen India celebrated record sales figures for the Virtus. This sedan, commanding over 40% market share, exemplifies the brand's strength in the premium segment.

Prestigious Brands and Expansive Reach

The group’s footprint in India spans across premium and luxury brands, including Bentley, which has started a new chapter by moving its operations under Bentley India. New showrooms in key cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru further enhance this transition. Porsche India, adding 4,400 new customers over six years, now extends its reach with 13 sales points nationwide.

Accolades and advancements continue with Audi's RS Q8 being named Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 AutoX Awards. Additionally, the brand’s efforts in bolstering the electric vehicle infrastructure through initiatives like Charge My Audi have led to the installation of over 6,500 charging points.

Lamborghini further displayed its growth by delivering 113 cars in 2024, surpassing its 2023 figures by 10%. Highlighted by the introduction of the hybrid Temerario, their commitment to innovation aligns with the Direzione Cor Tauri strategy.

Expanding Beyond Borders

Exemplifying its global reach, SAVWIPL's export operations have seen more than 700,000 vehicles shipped from India to regions including Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. This push underlines the 'Made in India, Driven by the World' vision, establishing India as a pivotal export hub.

The company operates from two cutting-edge facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, with nearly €600 million invested particularly to support increased production volumes and deepen localization efforts. These facilities are instrumental in delivering the agility necessary for a multi-brand, multi-market strategy.

The Road Ahead

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India's journey highlights a blend of local ingenuity with global standards, enabling them to shape India's future mobility landscape. By focusing intensively on cost optimization and embracing local engineering talents, the organization is set on reinforcing its competitive edge. The commitment to localization ensures that the brand remains a formidable force in both domestic and global markets.

Piyush Arora, CEO & Managing Director of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, emphasizes the significant trust Indian consumers place in their brands, attributing the milestone to strategic investments in technology and people. Looking forward, the company aims to continue serving its discerning customer base with the same level of quality and precision that defines their global reputation.
